Bavenhausen Born: A Kluckhohn Family in America

Updated December 30, 2008

About Our Family Research

The earliest Kluckhohns (1650 or so) are recorded at the parishes of Lemgo and of Talle, in the Prinicipality of Lippe-Detmold, about 40 km (25 mi) Southwest of Hannover. Between 1848 and 1856 many Kluckhohns and their kin removed from Bavenhausen to Chicago, IL. From there they spread to Cedar Lake, IN, Stitzer, WI, Hancock and Plymouth Counties in Iowa. By 1997 we can be found as far away as Australia and Antarctica.

Allied Lines are BARR, CRAMP / KRAMPFF, DODSON, FÖLLER / FELLER, FREITAG / FRIDAY, FREVERT, GROHNDIEDRICH / GROMAN, HIRSCH, KELLOGG, ORTSMEYER, PETERSMEYER, RENTORF, SAACK / SAAK, SCHULDT and various descendants of Lewis JONES of Stepney, Middlesex, England who migrated to Roxbury, Massachusetts before 1632.
