I am doing research on my English, Italian, and Slovenian ancestors. The major Surnames in my work are YOUNG, JOHNSON, ROWE, LORING, DECK, HUFFMAN, SALTO, GIANOLA, YOUVAN (JUVAN), and CHENDISH. I'd welcome interested fellow genealogers to contact me. My ROWE and YOUNG ancestors immigrated from England in the 1830s (ROWE) and 1880s (YOUNG). The SALTOs came from Italy to the US in the early 1900s and the YOUVANs (JUVAN) came from Slovenia in the 1880s. All of my ROWE, YOUNG, SALTO, and YOUVAN ancestors worked the coal mines in southeastern Kansas. My LORING ancestors arrived in 1634 from England, settled in Massachusetts and Maine, then followed the familiar migration routes from Indiana to Illinois to Missouri and finally to Kansas in the early 1870s. |
