Find Family

* My Many Ancestors*

Updated November 22, 2003

I am currently researching the family trees of both my parents. Some of the work has already been completed by my intelligent and diligent great-grandparents. Unfortunately, my German and Hungarian immigrant ancestors did not have such a descendant... until within the last few years!

Janos Fedor and Zsussanna Kavaletcz, Hungarian immigrants, came to America where their surviving children grew up and thrived (John / Janos, Istvan and Mary). Janos worked for the railroad. They lived in Florida for some time but died in Cleveland, Ohio.

John Fedor, one of their children, married Elizabeth Rentka who was also a Hungarian immigrant. They lived in Detroit, MI for a time, then Hooversville, Pennsylvania but finally settled in Ohio. Their children were Frank, Stephen, Elizabeth, Bela (Bill or William), Edward, Margaret, twins John and Joseph, Albert and Carl.

John and Elizabeth's relatives lived with them for a period of time but eventually moved out.

Joseph Martin Nagy married Julia Balog(h) after his first wife, Nina Custer, passed away. Julia had a son (Joseph) from a previous marriage and Joseph had a son (Custer) and daughter (Leota) from his marriage to Nina. Joseph and Julia together had the following children: Ethel, Alfred, John, Julius, Paul, Harold, Julia and Joseph Jr.

John H. (1848-1901) and Louisa A. Knaeuper / Knauper (1855-1940) came over from Germany with their son, John A. (1879-1959). They arrived in New York on May 26, 1885. They eventually settled in Cincinnati and had more children. These children were: John H., Harry, Virginia, Clara, Alma, Annie and Elizabeth. At some point, something happened because Harry's children did not know that they had any uncles or that their grandmother was alive while they were growing up. I have no idea what happened to the children of John and Louisa nor any information on the ancestors or origin of John and Louisa. Either Louisa's maiden or later married name was Harnish and / or Fuhrmeyer.

I know the information above is not what is necessary to find information. I am just writing this quickly to at least get this much information out to everyone.

I plan to release a book of my research to family members soon.

Thank you for visiting and hopefully this site will be in better shape next time you drop in.

Take care!
