6. CYNTHIA ANN3 PARKER (SILAS M2, ELDER JOHN1) was born 1827 in ILLIOUS, and died 1864 in FOSTERVILLE, TEXAS, CSA. She married CHIEF PETA NOCONA in LLANO ESTACADO, son of CHIEF POHEBITS ( IRON JACKET) QUASHO. He was born in LLANO ESTACADO, and died 1862 in LLANO ESTACADO.

      IN THE SPRING OF 1836 AT PARKER'S FORT, MIDWAY BETWEEN THE BRAZOS AND TRINITY RIVERS ABOUT AS FAR NORTH AS WACO, TEXAS, A COMANCHE WAR PARTY ATTACKS AND OVERTAKES THE STOCKADE. IN THE BATTLE SEVERAL MEMBERS OF THE PARKER CLAN ARE KILLED INCLUDING THEIR LEADER JOHN AND TWO OF HIS SONS, SILAS AND BENJAMEN. SAMUEL AND ROBERT FROST WERE KILLED ALONG WITH TWO WOMEN . GRANNY PARKER WAS RAPED AND SPEARED AND DIED TWO DAYS LATER. SEVERAL WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE CARRIED OFF, AMONG THEM THE YOUNG CYNTHIA ANN.

      CYNTHIA IS CLAIMED BY A BAND OF PENATAKAS AND HER ADOPTED PARENTS ARE, TABBY-NOCCA AND CHATUA, WHO NAME HER NADUAH. MANY YEARS GO BY AND SHE BECOMES PURE COMANCHE. SHE MEETS A YOUNG CHIEF OF THE QUOHADAS BAND, NAMED PETA NOCONA, AND MARRIES HIM. OVER THE YEARS SHE IS SPOTTED BY TRADERS AND RANGERS SEVERAL TIMES, BUT STAYS WITH HER ADOPTED PEOPLE, HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY, SHE AND PETA HAVE THREE CHILDREN. FINALLY A COMPANY OF TEXAS RANGERS, UNDER CAPTAIN SUL ROSS, CATCH UP WITH THE QUAHADAS AT THE BATTLE OF PEASE RIVER AND CYNTHIA IS CAPTURED IN THE FALL OF 1860. SHE FIGHTS LIKE THE INDIAN SHE HAS BECOME AND ALMOST ESCAPES AFTER KILLING ROSS' HORSE, BUT IS OVERTAKEN BY THE RANGERS AND SHE AND HER DAUGHTER ARE PRESSED INTO HER 2nd CAPTIVITY. SHE IS RETURNED TO THE PARKER CLAN, BUT AFTER TWENTY-FIVE YEARS WITH THE COMANCHE SHE IS FAR MORE INDIAN THEN WHITE AND SHE ATTEMPTS ESCAPE AFTER ESCAPE. SHE LIVES WITH HER BROTHER SILAS JR. IN VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX WHERE SHE SLIPS INTO A DEEP DEPRESSION AND EVENTUALLY DIES.

8. RACHEL3 PARKER (JAMES W2, ELDER JOHN1) died November 19, 1838 in PARKERS FORT, TEXAS. She married L. M. S. PLUMMER.

Notes for RACHEL PARKER:
      RACHEL WAS CARRIED OFF BY THE COMANCHE DURING THE RAID OF MAY 19, 1836. SHE WAS BRUTALLY RAPED IN FRONT OF CYNTHIA AND THE OTHER CAPTURED CHILDREN. SHE WAS TAKEN BY A TRIBE INTO THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS WHERE SHE DEVELOPED FROSTBITE ON HER TOES. FIVE MONTHS AFTER HER KIDNAPPING SHE GAVE BIRTH TO HER 2ND SON. SIX MONTHS LATER THE BABY WAS TIED BY THE NECK BEHIND A HORSE AND DRAGGED REPETEDLY THRU CLUMPS OF PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS UNTIL THERE WAS NO SKIN LEFT ON HIS LITTLE BODY. IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 7 MONTHS BEFORE RACHEL WAS FREED. SHE NEVER RECOVERED FROM HER ORDEAL AND DIED A YEAR AFTER RETURNING HOME.

      JAMES WAS KIDNAPPED BY THE COMANCHE DURING THE MASSARCE AT PARKER'S FORT MAY 19, 1836. FOR THE NEXT SIX YEARS HE WAS RAISED AS A COMANCHE. HE WAS EVENTUALLY REUNITED WITH THE REMAINDER OF HIS FAMILY IN 1842.
