I am researching the KOBER, KIEFER, ALPHA and CHAISSON families from Mississippi, Missouri and Louisiana, with roots going back into Germany.
My paternal side is made of the KOBER and KIEFER families.
The KOBER side has roots going back to Henry KOBER from Germany coming to the U.S. via the port of New Orleans, in 1851. He stayed there until he was 18, and then moved to Greenville, MS. He married Priscilla Jane TAMPLIN on January 3, 1865 in Washington County, Mississippi, and they had 8 children (that I know of): Tabitha, Eugene, Zacharia, George, Christina, Henry, Lula and Frank.
The KIEFER part of my family is from Missouri. I have track of them as far back as Joseph A. KIEFER marrying Mary SHELL. I don't know any dates on them, except that they had a son, John Sanford Cook KIEFER, born on February 08, 1842. I got John's full name from a cousin of mine, so I am not sure if the "Sanford Cook" part is correct.

My maternal side is made of the ALPHA and CHAISSON families.
The ALPHA family is from Louisiana, but I don't have much information on them yet, except for my close relatives, who are all still living.
The CHAISSON part of my family is also from Louisiana. I have information on them going back as far as Dennis CHAISSON, who was born September 10, 1893 and died April 1975. That is as far back as I have gotten so far.

If anyone can help, or think I can help you, with information, please feel free to email me. ANY accurate information you can help me with will be greatly appreciated.
