Odessa B Hawks, 79, of Galax, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001 at Twin County Regional Hosptial.
She was the widow of Charles H. Hawks.
She was born June 13, 1922 in Carroll County to Rob Barker and Ceily Gooson Barker.
Survivors include a son and daugher in law, Stanley C. and Patricia Hawks of Galax; two sisters,
Helen Whisenhunt and Trusty Bryant, both of Galax; a brother, Harvey Barker of Galax; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Monday at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with burial in the Blue Ridge Chapel
Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Kenny and Dewey Felts officiated.
