2. MARY ANN² GOLDEN (WILLIAM (BILL)¹) was born Abt. 1856 in North Carolina. She married MACK WARD.

Notes for MARY ANN GOLDEN:
Mary Ann and Mack were given a track of land by Mary Ann's stepfather, Alfred Daniel which lay between two tracks given to her half-brothers, George and Rueben Daniel. Mack built a small one room cabin on the land but was not happy. He moved and took Mary Ann and the children out west. Later Mary Ann and the children returned however Mack never did.

Mary Ann is buried at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Lambsburg, Va., however her marker has been removed.

He married NANCY CAROLINE ALMEDA UPCHURCH Aft. 1880, daughter of WILLIAM UPCHURCH and EMILY CAUDILL. She was born July 18, 1867 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and died October 25, 1937 in Carroll County, Virginia.
