Malissa Norman Creed was born August 7, 1847 in Surry County, NC. She was the daughter of Matthew Norman and Sarah (Sally) Franklin. She married Hugh B. Creed February 2, 1868 and died March 26, 1929 from pnuemonia after falling in to the creek off of a footlog on her property.
