1. BENJAMIN S.1 EISENHART was born March 24, 1805, and died September 06, 1878. He married CATHERINE SEIBEL. She was born November 14, 1807, and died July 31, 1868.

BENJAMIN EISENHART

Benjamin migrated from Lehighton to Spring Valley, Pennsylvania and purchased the valley running half way to Center Valley. It was quite a tract of land even in those days. He accumulated a fortune before arrival in Spring Valley. There are several rumors as to how he acquired his wealth; the most likely one is that during the Civil War he loaned the government. money and the return of the money after the close of the war was repaid at good interest plus a considerable bonus. The author, when riding with his father and passing the ruins of the Bingen Furnace, said, "My grandfather lost $50,000 when that place shut down." The iron in the vicinity was only in small pockets and eventually petered out.
The following is the data of Benjamin, his wife and family. The children's names are not necessarily in consecutive order and much information as of this printing is not known to me.
Benjamin was born March 24, 1805 and died September 6, 1878. He married Catherine Seibel born November 14, 1807 and died July 31, 1868. They are both buried in the cemetery adjoining the Apples Church near Leightsvillc, Pa.

Their children were as follows:
Tilighman for many years lived in Hellertown, Pa.
Elizabeth lived in Spring Valley, Pa., married Levi Sterner.

Jacob in 1880 moved to Ohio and I am trying to make contact with his descendants.
Benjamin born August 7, 1827 and died Novomber 20, 1899.
Owen lived in New York State and some descendants may be living in Kentucky.
Sarah married -- Erdman.

Henry S. Born September 24, 1833 and died
February 23, 1918; marrried Elemina Zuck born May 1, 1841 died March 6, 1903.

Matilda married William Beck.

Moses born December 18, 1837 died September 25, 1913 married Cath - -born Jan. 4, 1839 died May 2, 1923. Second wife -- Sleifer.

Caroline married Thomas Weaver, lived in Spring Valley.

Milton born April 20, 1843 died May 4, 1924 married Emma Zuck born March 4, 1843 died October 4, 1925.

Franklin born June 23, 1841 died 1889 married Elemina Beiler born June 8, 1843 died February 2, 1909.
