I am researching the Hambright/Hambrecht/Hamprecht family in America. The decendants of Colonel Frederick Hambright are my primary research and this page is dedicated to the family of his first wife, Sarah Hardin.
The Hambrights came to America in the early 18th century from Neunstetten, Buchen-Baden, Germany. Eleven year old Frederick Hambright and his brothers arrived in Philadelphia on Oct 27, 1738 aboard the St. Andrew. While most family members settled in Lanacaster Co., Pennsylvania, Col. Frederick moved to North Carolina where he fought at the Battle of Kings Mountain during the Revolutionary War.
The children of Col. Hambright and Sarah Hardin are Elizabeth Hambright (m. Joseph Jenkins), John Hardin Hambright (m. Nancy Black), Benjamin Hambright (m. unknown), Frederick, Jr. Hambright (m. Mary Eaker), James M. Hambright (m. Rachel Wells), and Sarah Hambright (m. Peter Eaker).
You will find their lines listed below. Because this web page only allows for 5 genealogy reports, I have combined the lines of Sarah Hambright and Frederick, Jr. since they married into the Eaker line.
If you have questions, and I'm sure you will, please contact me and I will be happy to direct you to your family line. I would also appreciate your assistance in providing current family information to the files for our upcoming publication. There are lots of gaps that we are continuing to research and all help is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Kohout Hambright Historian Kings Mountain, North Carolina
CURRENTLY ON THIS WEB SITE: You will notice that I have only posted trees for the children of Col. Frederick Hambright from his marriage to Sarah Hardin. I am focusing my attention on completion of these lines for the NEW HAMBRIGHT PUBLICATION that is in production. If you are a descendant of Major Frederick, Jr. or Sarah Hambright, those files are combined as descendants of Peter Eaker, Jr. (This allows me to post all six children's line within the confines of the 5 Report Maximum allowed on this site.) Please submit your family lines to me in GEDCOM format if you would like to be included in the book. If you don't know how to do a GEDCOM file, contact me and I'll help you with this. Also, don't be alarmed if your branch on this web site is short for now. This is a work in progress and it is changing and being updated every week. There is much to do!!! Thanks for viewing the website and submitting your family information.
I would appreciate any information you may have and am happy to share what I have found. If you find any errors, please contact me.
