I am researching the Hambright/Hambrecht/Hamprecht, Conder/Konder, Kohout and Connally families whose paths crossed in Texas in the late 1800's and early 1900's.
The Hambrights and Conders came to America in the early 18th century from Germany. Eleven year old Frederick Hambright and his brothers arrived in Philadelphia on Oct 27, 1738 aboard the St. Andrew. While most family members settled in Lanacaster Co., Pennsylvania, Col. Frederick moved to North Carolina where he fought at the Battle of Kings Mountain during the Revolutionary War.
The Conders arrived in Philadelphia Sept. 24, 1737 aboard the Virtuous Grace and settled in Rowan and Mecklenburg Counties, North Carolina. Both the Conders and the Hambrights lived in North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and other neighboring states for over 150 years. Around 1880, descendants moved to Central Texas, where they met and married.
The Kohout and Ondracek branch came from Persikov and Borova, Bohemia aboard the Nordornay and landed in Galveston, Texas Nov. 8, 1901. They originaly settled in Hallettsville, TX, but moved to Haskell and Jones County, Texas in 1907.
The Connally and Lawson family came from Georgia,Tennessee & Kentucky in the late 19th century. My great-grandfathers in each of those lines were orphaned around the time of the Civil War and nothing is known of their ancestry at this time.
Other lines of ancestors are Norris, Clinkscales, Fryer, Balfour, Haley, DeMoss, Robinson, Lawson, Whisnant, Wells, Trail, Leftwich, Rice, Dover, Hardin, Carpenter, Hammill, Hammond, Holloway, Willhoit, Howard, Jones, London, Parker, Stewart, Ogilvey, Swanson, Tomblin, Traill, Walker, Weaver, Webb, and Robinson.
CURRENTLY ON THIS WEB SITE: You will notice that I have only posted trees for the children of Col. Frederick Hambright from his marriage to Sarah Hardin. I am focusing my attention on completion of these lines for the NEW HAMBRIGHT PUBLICATION that is in production. If you are a descendant of Major Frederick, Jr. or Sarah Hambright, those files are combined as descendants of Peter Eaker, Jr. (This allows me to post all six children's line within the confines of the 5 Report Maximum allowed on this site.) Please submit your family lines to me in GEDCOM format if you would like to be included in the book. If you don't know how to do a GEDCOM file, contact me and I'll help you with this. Also, don't be alarmed if your branch on this web site is short for now. This is a work in progress and it is changing and being updated every week. There is much to do!!! Thanks for viewing the website and submitting your family information.
I would appreciate any information you may have and am happy to share what I have found. If you find any errors, please contact me.
