GROVES EZZELL QUINN MERRITT OUTLAW AND others
North Carolina, Duplin County, area. Near Magnolia NC

1813 John Kelly Groves born in Duplin County. Married Susan Ezzell or Ezel

Joseph Kelly Groves (born 1793)(died before 1870) was found on list of Duplin Co. North Carolina taxables in 1807 and 1808. He was not married, owned no land nor slaves, and was age 14 when the first list of 1807 was compiled. No parents were listed.

By 1810, the census listed him as a Joseph GROVER. He was married with one female child.

The 1820 census shows he had, in addition to the wife and female child, three male children.

Joseph Kelly lived in Duplin Co. North Carolina (also known as Stricklandville) (now known as Magnolia) all his life.

I am searching for the name of his wife, his female child, and his parents.

This family has a strong Scotch-Irish heritage, and Joseph may be the patriarch who first arrived in this country, or the GROVES family has roots here long before the Revolutionary War.
