He arrived in Philadelphia in 1732 on the ship Dragon.
At the time of his emigration was a resident of Ittlingen, near Heilbrun, in the Palatinate, one of the Rhine provinces of Germany... John Adam Romig, with his family, sailed for America from Rotterdam, Holland, on the ship Dragon, and arrived at Philadelphia on September 30th, 1732, where he and his son, Frederick, then 19 years of age, signed the oath of allegiance to the King of England. His wife, whose name was Agnes Margretha Bernhardt, died soon after her arrival in America. John Adam Romig, after his second marriage, removed to the northern part of the present Lehigh county, then a part of Bucks, and later of Northampton county, to the section of country called "Allemaengel", now Lynn township. There he became a member of the Moravian church, although a Lutheran in the old country, and died in the Moravian faith. "In the year 1712 I married Agnes Margaretha Bernhard. In the year 1732 with my wife and children left for America. Shortly after our arrival at Philadelphia, my wife died. We had lived together 20 years and had 5 sons and 2 daughters, of whom 2 sons have died. In 1733 I married the second time to Maria Ursula Wanner with whom I had 2 sons and 3 daughters, 2 sons and 1 daughter died in early childhood." He joined the Moravian church in 1762 -- prior to this he had been a deacon in the Lutheran church. He suffered from asthma. He died the morning of July 11, aged 79 years, 5 mo. and 2 days.
