This is a cousin of one of the my family's distant cousins. She is a distant cousin to the Lomax report on this site. The Hairstons were, at one time, the "Vanderbilts" of the South, owning over 10,000 acres with dozens of plantations. Peter Hairston and Mary Yeldell were the grandparents of Nancy Lomax Keller, my third great-grandmother! Rhoda was born on January 30, 1812 in South Carolina. What a find!
