Moving into our new house, at Cypress Gardens Rd. From here, we could see, from our house, at Lake Florence, to Lake Martin (the back side of Cypress Gardens), the "Belles" which came every day. I knew what a "Belle" was, and is now, before I saw and became an expert on Southern History (I possess a degree in History), and the history is truly misunderstood. For instance, "Dixie", was written, in 1859, for a minstel show in OHIO! Anyhow, another treasure found! This is the house in which we lived until, my mother's death, and then we moved to the house on Lake Otis, in Winter Haven, where the balcony covered the entire portion of back of the house overlooking the lake.
