This is a paiting, by an unknown Confederate, of Howard's Grove Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. My 2nd great-grandfather, Absalom Koon, CSA, died here in January of 1865 of smallpox during the Battle of Petersburg. His body as well as many others were burnt as they did not have space to bury them. Please visit the link below for the history of this horrible place.
