This is a photograph of my great-great grandmother, Lavinia Amanda Taylor Koon (1825-1906). She is the granddaughter of Henry Dominick and Margaret Fellers. She is the daughter of Elziabeth Dominick (daughter of Henry Dominick) and William W. Taylor of Newberry, SC. They moved to North Florida near Lake City/Columbia/FL circa 1858. I have heard stories of her burying the enough of the family treasures so the Yankees would not suspect when they came through and pillaged during the Battle of Olustee in North Florida in 1864. She would loan money to people after the war and would foreclose on the date due if not paid by the borrower. It is rumored that she owned almost all of Union County, FL at one time.
