I am researching Marcine Rebecca Reed. She was born in January of 1867 in either Louisiana or Mississippi. She married Rufus King Lovett about 1885. They lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.The only other information I have about her is contained in a letter written from one of her sons, John Lovett, to my grandfather, Charles Isaac (Ike) Lovett, in 1951. The letter is in reference to old claims for land in Mississippi that the Choctaw Indians sold to the government. The Choctaw Indians who chose to stay in Mississippi were never paid. The letter states that John Reed filed his claim and named his heirs. From the content of the letter it appears that Marcine Reed is a descendant of John Reed.
