(Conservative) for Holborn between 1945 and 1950.3 He was Chairman of Beaverbrook Newspapers Ltd.3 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Beaverbrook, of Beaverbrook, in the province of New Brunswick, Canada [U.K., 1917] on 9 June 1964.2 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Aitken [U.K., 1916] on 9 June 1964.2 On 12 June 1964 he disclaimed his peerage.2 He graduated from University of New Brunswick in 1966 with the degree of honorary Doctor of Law (LL.D.).3 He held the office of Chancellor of the University of New Brunswick.3
