I am researching the Kostick's (Kosztik) of Hungary. My grandfather Paul A. Kostick came to this country as a child in 1902 from the town Ungvar with his parents Josef Janos and Elizabeth born Kotyug. My grandmother Sophie Asmussen (Paul's wife) came from Hamburg in Germany. I have traced her family through Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenberg-Schwerin. Allied families include the Behrens, Cords, Dolge, Kayatz, Klotzen, Pamprien, Schmidt, Soltwedel, Stube, Welzin, Wiese, Zulck, and others. On my mother's side of the family is my grandfather Albert New, born in Brooklyn. His father George born in Colonial India was raised in St. Kitts B.W.I. Before coming to America. I have traced this family back to Wiltshire England and Germany. Allied families include the Baade, Barnes, Glyde, Hass, Lafrenz, Lehmkuhl, Mackeprang, Marquardt, Prendergast, Rahlf, Schroeder, Wohler, and others.
My grandmother Helen Solem (Albert's wife) was born in Kristiansund , Norway. I have traced her family though out Norway and back to the Ancient Kings of Norway. Allied families include the AEnes, Aga, Arhus, Berge, Bergsto, Birkenes, Bjorke, Bjotveit, Borve, Dareid, Elle, Espeland, Flatabo, Fykse, Galtung, Hellestveit, Hovland, Inderberg, Jorgenvag, Kamsvag, Leren, Lervag, Lid, Lind, Listeid, Ljustad, Mo, Nes, Nesthus, Neteland, Norheim, Nygard, Ormbostad, Ovsthus, Oystese, Reistveit, Reisvag, Sagvik, Sandven, Skalheim, Skeie, Steine, Tolo, Torsnes, Torvastad, Vagbo, Vage, Valland, and others.
We have also traced many of the lines of our spouses families. They include Barchey, Bonner, Bowen, Brittingham, Conlon, Cummings, Dowlings, Harrelson, Hovis, Hull, Husband, Kaufman, Life, Matthews, McBride, McCoy, Moss, Mortimer, Norwood, Oglesbee, Partin, Pursley, Tinkle, Troublefield, Turbyville, Vineyard, Walker, and many others.
