As of January 2001 I have verified that our first ARMSTRONG'S name is James and he was born in Ireland around 1780. *Look at the outline of JAMES ARMSTRONG. ************************************************************* From William Anderson Armstrong and Maggie M. Wilson our family begins in the year of 1863 in Ohio. They had 7 children, Addison, Hamilton, James killed in WWI, Arthur moved to Florida, William who moved to California, Raymond and daughter Annabelle that died young from being burned. We have expanded our family to over 1,400 people at the end of 1999. I have discovered that these reports will never be completed so----- I dedicate these reports to family members in the year " 2000 " and will hope that at least one person will continue on with my legacy. As of this date January 2000,I have not been able to find out where " our" Armstrong's descended from---Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, or Holland.But the "Armstrong's" were Ambassadors, Earls, Knights, farmers, borders and above all fighters. From Siward Beorn, the original " STRONG ARM" from Scotland to Ireland's William Armstrong, or Wallace Armstrong of Holland to the famous Neil Armstrong of America, someone out there is a direct ancestor of our family !
