I am researching KRELL(e), BLACK, FULMER, RIDLEHOOVER, DELOACH, MORRIS, HARMON, MINICK, MILES, SUMMER, and many other surnames and their variations primarily in the Dutch Fork, Edgefield, Lexington and Ninety Six areas of South Carolina. I compiled the life's work of Mrs. Marzelle Fulmer Shealy, and it is a considerable part of this information.
I have proven my CSA ancestor Thomas B. Morris, gg-grandfather, and am currently Lt. Commander and Webmaster for the Sgt. Adam W. Ballenger Camp #68, Sons of Confederate Veterans, in Spartanburg. Henry Black, George Noah Calvin Fulmer, and Joseph Ridlehoover were also CSA ancestors. I am a member of the Gen. Daniel Morgan Chapter of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution, under my ancestor Andrew Caughman.
N. B.: Some of these files are pretty large. If you are daunted by their size, please email me and tell me what you are specifically looking for, and I will try to get it to you.
I have included some photo's of a Schwar(t)z family burial plot near the homestead in the woods near Chapin. It is my theory that this family is related to my Black ancestors, and they opted not to translate the surname. I believe that the "? Schwartz" who sired Henry Schwartz by Anna Christina Setzler and my Johann Adam Black are the same person. Any proof/denial would be appreciated. Unfortunately a fire at the court house in Lexington County in 1839, finished off by Sherman in 1865, make research in that area extremely difficult.
I have a little information on my wife Debbie's WALSH and MCGREAL ancestors from Tipperary, Ireland, to Baltimore, MD. Her BRUNNER and KREUTZER surnames from Bavaria also came originally to Baltimore, as well as her LESAGE line from France. Her ancestors came to the US late in the 19th century.
I welcome exchanges of information. That is what genealogical research is all about -- working together to find where we came from, so that we have a better idea about where we're going.
