"The Kriha Family - a.k.a Krycha; Kricha; Krziha; (V)Oldrich

Updated April 6, 2001... Added Descendant Tree... Descendants of Jirik Krycha (His Last name may have been Oldrich or Voldrich) Krycha name evolved into Kricha and finally Kriha... This is the Family Tree of a majority of Wisconsin Kriha's... I hope to post the Minnesota Tree and Nebraska Tree soon... We still have not found the connection... There is also the Illinois Kriha's who I have not yet been able to get information from... I am hoping to post their information too...

Greeting fellow Kriha's.... I have been researching the Kriha family history for about 5 years now... I have just begun to assemble all I have into ledgable format!!!
I have had great assistance from a wonderful distant cousin in Germany... Another possible cousin from Minnesota has provided much needed input and several others have helped along the way, including a Kriha who ended up down in New Zealand!!!

Our family started in Bohemia which is now the Czech Republic... In the United States we have found large "Pockets" of Kriha's..

The Wisconsin clan which I am a part of started in here in the early 1900's... A Minnesota group arrived in the 1860's... A Nebraska group started about the same time and a Illionois group that started in the 1870's...

What is interesting is that we can not tie the groups together, but what is really puzzeling is the fact that all of the cities or villages that these people came from were very close to each other, in a 25 mile circumference...

The oldest docuement we have takes us back to 1422 in Zliv where the "Kziha" name was first found...

Maybe you have the missing link that can bring us all together..
