MURIEL M. WULF

Muriel M. Wulf 72 of Arlington died Saturday morning in her home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Arlington Community Church. The Rev. Robert Saunders officiated and burial was made in Arlington Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Arlington Community Church.
Mrs. Wulf was born May 23, 1914 in Pender. she had lived in Arlington since childhood. She was a member of the Arlington Community Church, the church circle and the Just For Fun Extension Club.
Muriel Plugge married Leonard Wulf May 23, 1934, in Arlington. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Daryl of Boys Town and Dr. L. Wayne Wulf of Pine Valley, California; Two daughter, Mrs. Glen (Coralen) Keeler of Arlington, and Mrs. Rich (Mary) Burgess of Neligh; one brother, Gordon Plugge of Lillian, Ala; and one sister, Mrs. Howard (Edith) Marshall of Arlington; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Cora (French) Plugge; brothers, Lyle, Wayne and Sterling Plugge; daughter-in-law, Joyce Wulf; grandson, James Wulf; and Granddaughter, Coral Keeler.

I remember my Grandparents the Rahlfs. Tho I was only 6-7 years old. They moved from the farm place where I was born and raised. When they came to visit, my Grandpa like to look the home place over. That was natural to do. He took me by my hand and we walked all over, he like to look every thing over. He would show and tell me the trees that he planted. When my Grandma became sick, my mother went to take care of her, taking Clifford along, as he was only one year old. I think they went by train to Blair. Then Grandpa came to stay with my folks on the farm. My mother fixed a bed for him in what was the living room. He died in February, if my memory serves me right.

You may heard that a new house and farm building were built for my folks, Was the place that Leonard and Muriel lived on. When the grandparents moved to Blair, my folks moved to the home place, where they lived for many years. When grandparents passed away the property was divided. They, my folks inherited some money, so bought the place your folks and you lived. Later they bought Uncle Herman's Rahlfs place next to them. I think they bought the land for less then $1oo an acre.

I am wondering where you found my mother's name, she was called Lizzie, but I remember a framed Cert. hanging on the wall in their bedroom out on the farm. I think it has some thing to do with the school that she went to up at St Pau's Lutheran church school. I read it as Elisa Alwina, but it hung high up. She said that was her name and on my baptism Cert, it reads Louise for her name. When she passed away. I looked for that Certificate high and low, through drawers and up in the attic at Dads in Arlington. He said i must be there some place. I don't know why she went by the name Lizzie if it wasn't her real name. I remember may of her school friends called her Elisa. When the folks went to Fremont, they met folks they knew and hadn't seen for a long time.
