I Christopher Brumbley of Preston, in the county of New London, being advanced in years, some infirmity of body, that by the blessing of God have the use of my reason, and of sound mind and memory Considering that all men must Die and how soon I may Die I know not, I therefore make this my last Will and Testament -- First I commend my Soul to God who Gave it and my body to the Dust to be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as to my worldly Interests I give and dispose of it in the following maner (viz.)
1st I give to my wife Esther Brumbley one Hundred Dollars in money and all the property of every kind and nature which was her own before our Intermarriage and in Case my said wife is now with child and is delivered of a living child in that case my will is that said child shall have of my Estate a sum equal to my Daughters portions.
2nd All my moveable Estate excepting my money and obligations for money, I order to be Divided into Ten parts, my Daughter Anne Benjamin to have Two parts and all my other children to have one part each, excepting my son Reuben.
3rd I give to my daughters (Voxl,) Eunice Benjamin, Polly Benjamin, Anne Benjamin, Lucy Geer, Keziah Stanton, Rebecca Sterry, and Sally Hutchinson. To each of them Fifty Dollars, which sum shall go to the Hiers of those two daughters which are Deceased, (vizl) Eunice Benjamin and Keziah Stanton, and in Case Elisha Clark comes home he is to share equally with the child which Keziah had by her husband.
4th All my other property I give to be Divided equally among my three sons they paying all my just Debts and funeral charges and I do hereby appoint my Son Dewey Brumbley, Executor to this my last Will and Testament. Revoking all others and Declaring this only to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of April 1806.
