My paternal side primary includes the following surnames in Michigan, Illinois, and New York: SCHOCK/SCHOOK, DAHN/DAEHN, BOWER/BOWERS, BECKMAN, HOLLENBECK, GRUBE, and DITTMAN among others. Most of the people I'm researching lived in the general area of St. Clair County, Lapeer County, and Macomb County, MI....the Beckman's, Grube's, and Dittman's lived in Monroe County, NY....and Dahn's lived in the McHenry County, IL area. The JAMES and GEORGE families I'm researching lived primarily in the Floyd County, Martin County, Lawrence County, and Johnson County area of Kentucky and also some in the western part of West Virginia.
