| The purpose of this research is to find the ancestors and descendants of Conrad Kunkel (1830-1899), who is the first generation of my family to come to the U.S. from Burbach,Saarland, Germany, circa 1854. Conrad was married to Marie Engelman (1837-1932), and they had their first children in Clinton, OH(Frederick 2/19/1856 & Mary 6/10/1857). They then moved to the St. Louis area, and remained between there and the southern Illinois area around DuQuoin-Benton, where they had seven more children, including my great-grandfather, Henry Conrad Kunkel (1878-1943). His children were Frederick Henry (1903-1978), Edgar Conrad (1909-1965), Elfreda Marie (b.1913, married name Froemsdorf), Leona Elizabeth(b.1916, married name Scheaffer) and my grandfather, Carl Robert (b. 1905- ).Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. I would like to share information with you. Ron Kunkel |
