Charles Kyker's Family Home Page

I am trying to find out as much as I can about my background and my family's. The family name KYKER was originally KEICHER (a Rhinelander name), and also appears as KIKER, in TN, NC, PA since 1750 and elsewhere.
My great-great-grandfather Joseph Jackson KYKER (1818-1905) married (1841, Washington Co., TN) Priscilla BALYS (1823-1868) (the name usually appears as BAYLES or BAYLESS). They have a large family of descendants in Washington, Cocke, Greene, and Sevier Cos., TN, and elsewhere. The Keicher ancestor was immigrant c. 1752; she comes from New Amsterdam families immigrant c. 1640 (another important surname is LAKE or LEEK).
