| Hello! I have been researching my family tree for about four years, and, with the help of some family members and the Internet, I have accumulated almost 900 family members in my World Family Tree file. I have been straining to find more information regarding the McLean and Labrum branches of my family tree; also the Shene branch (does anyone know if the surname "Shene" is linked to the surname "Schoen"?). There is a family reunion of the Shenes in upstate New York in August of 2000, so I would like to be able to collect as much information as possible before I go. I had a chance to visit Ellis Island in the Spring of 2000, and I plan to go again when I return to New York this summer. I have been somewhat fortunate that my mother moved to New York for a time in order to attend school; it has given me a chance to visit Ellis Island. I was not able, though, to use the research center there as I was unaware of the need for an appointment. Any help in finding additional members to add on to my tree would be great--I am trying to focus on main lines and go back in time as opposed to branching outward into 2nd and 3rd and removed cousins. Please feel free to contact me if I might be able to help you with any of your members. Let me make you aware, however, that I am attending college, so this is generally not my first priority, so there will most likely not be a lot of advances during the school year, but if you write me, I will attempt to write you back as soon as possible. |
