| The Joseph Labat family has its origin ca. 1824 from the Carribean Island of Martinique. He initially settled in the coastal regions of southern Louisiana. Subsequently the family "hub" was in the fishing community of Bay St. Louis, MS. There are many branches of the family who have migrated throughout America.He was a tradesman/craftsman who influenced several of his descendents in the construction, education and professional occupations. A continuous linkage of family members is well documented. Additional data is welcome; mutual sharing of information is encouraged.. |
