I'm Raymond La Barbera. I'm researching the family trees of my four grandparents: Pietro La Barbera and Anna Scimeca from Santa Flavia near Palermo, Sicily and Antonio Lamagna and Vincenza Liuzzi from Grassano, Italy. All came to, lived in and raised their families in Brooklyn, NY. Pietro and Anna had 8 children: Angelina (who married Giuseppe Mondello), Salvatore, Nunzia or "Nancy" (who married Frank Gagliano), Onofrio, Giovanna or "Jenny"(who married Demitrious Poutouros), Vincenzio or "Jimmy", Gaetano or "Tommy" and my father, all of whom were born between 1894 and 1909 and are now deceased. Antonio and Vincenza had 6 children: Antonio or "Carl", Caterina (who married Stefano Di Paola), Leorore Maria or Mary (who married Gaetano La Barbera), Francesco or "Frank", Amedeo and my mother Josephine, all of whom are alive with the exception of my mother. Vincenza was born Nov 9, 1887 and died Nov 16, 1941. Antonio was born Jan 25, 1882 and died Feb 15, 1963. Pietro died Dec 3, 1952 at the age of 83 and Anna died Mar 15, 1958 at the age of 87.
I'd appreciate any information you may have about my grandparents, their siblings, and the descendants of their siblings. In return, I'd be glad to share any information I have.
