I am interested in finding out about my family. My Dad's Parents came from Czechoslovakia. The names of the Villages from which they were from are Uderina,Poltar and Dobroc.
I'm pretty sure they came to the United States in the early 1920's.
My Grandfather was Andrej Laco/Latso Kratky. Born 9 Sept 1891 to Andrej Laco/Latso Kratky and Maria Morhac Hajtman.
My Grandmother was Helen/Helena Filo Cervenka. Born 30 May 1900 to Andrej Filo Cervenka and Helen Beracka/Beracko.
I got these names and Villages from a page in a bible that belonged to my Grandparents.
Another variation for the spellings of Laco and Filo are Latsco
and Felio. Both names were on my Fathers birth certificate.
Now for my Mom's side:
My Mom's ancestors came from Germany and England. When and where is the question.
My Grandfather was Reuben J. Baughman. Born in Irwin,PA on 14 May 1902 to a Reuben J. Baughman and Ida Jane Moore.
My Grandmother was Mildred E. Newingham. Born in Greensburg,PA on 29 Apr 1903 to a Oscar J. Newingham and Philiamena (Minnie) May Hook. Minnie Hook was born to a Peter W. Hook who was born in July of 1834 in Baden,Germany, and Mary E.Hogl who was born in Feb of 1855.
