      1. Johannes1 Hardenbergh (Source: (1) Welles, Theodore Wyckoff, "The Hardenbergh Families", N.J., 1893.., (2) Hoffman, William J. "An Armory of American Families: Hardenbergh-Schepmoes" NYGB Record LXX.., (3) Macy, Harry, Jr. "Gerritsen-Garrison, Van Wicklen, Hardenbergh, Wiltsie: Descendants of Gerrit Lubbertsen of Jamaica, Long Island" NYGB Record 1985.., (4) Miller, Myrtle Hardenburgh, "The Hardenburgh Family", 1958..) was born Abt. 1670 in Znolle, Overyessel, Holland, and died Aft. October 1728 in Jamaica, Long Island, New York. He married Grietje Gerrits June 03, 1693 in Flatbush Dutch Reformed church., daughter of Gerrit Lubbertsen and Geertie Van Boerum. She was born December 22, 1668 in Nijkirk, Gelderland, Holland, and died Unknown in New York City.

Notes for Johannes Hardenbergh:
Johannes appears in America when he married Grietie Gerrits on 03 June, 1693 in the Flatbush Dutch Reformed church in Brooklyn, New York. As early as 1688 he appears as a Freeman in Jamaica, Long Island. In 1715 he subscribed to a fund for the building of the Dutch Reformed church in Jamaica. Johannes, and his wife were sponsors to numerous baptisms in the Jamaica Dutch church. Later on Johannes, as a farmer, moved to Wolver Hollow, Oyster Bay, Long Island. Johannes does not appear to have been related to a similar family of this surname, albeit with a slightly different spelling, who lived in Ulster county, New York. He, and his wife were living in Jamaica, Long Island when they were married.

Notes for Grietje Gerrits:
She was witness to a baptism in the Jamaica DRC on 29 June, 1703, of a child born to Tunis, and Divertie Wiltse, who is related, Divertie being her sister.
