Descendants of Lambetse Huybertszen Moll

Generation No. 1

      1. Lambetse Huybertszen1 Moll was born Abt. 1592 in Orny, Holland, and died Aft. 1666 in New Amsterdam. He married Hendrickje Cornelis Abt. 1626 in Holland. She was born Abt. 1610 in Gelderland, Holland, and died Aft. 1662 in New Amsterdam.

Notes for Lambetse Huybertszen Moll:
Lambertse's Dutch ancestry is not known to this author. In 1641 we find him in New Amsterdam, so he must have arrived just before that date. He sold land in September of that year in New Amsterdam to Abraham Rycker. The land was described as being a large plantation by the East River. In 1643 he was residing on Long Island. In 1647 he owned a large plantation at Cripplebush, near Newtown, in the present day Queens, New York. He was primarily a farmer, and plantation owner, and he also owned a ship building business as well. In 1657 Court records list him as a Burger of New Amsterdam, a very good title in those days. He was indeed held in high repute in the new colony, and was an active man in his community. Other Court records show that Lambertse was a plaintiff against Raimond Staaplefort in 1664, stating that Raimond did not pay him yet for building a boat. In 1665 he was again a plaintiff, this time against Pieter Jansen Van Der Langhstraet. In this case Lambertse also requested payment for a boat which he built for Pieter. Also in 1665 Lambertse, and his son Abraham Lamberszen Mol paid taxes on farm land held in Smith's valley, on Long Island. On 31 March, 1665 Lambert was present as a Burger At the Burgomeisters Court in New Amsterdam. In 1665 other Court records show Lambertse as a defendant against Gerrit Mannert. Lambert stated that he was beaten with a can by Gerrit at the meyndictsens farm, and that he received a hole in his head. Gerrit stated that Lambert had hit him first with a pair of tongs. Lambert won the case and was awarded 100 florins. Also in 1665 Lambert was a defendant against Jacobje Jansen. Jacobje stated that Lambert yelled at her and called her a swine, and a whore. Lambert stated that he was drunk at the time, and did not know what he was doing. Lambert was fined 10 florins. Lambertsse also appeared in other records as well, and in the New York Dutch Reformed church records. Nothing is known about the ancestry of his wife, other than that she was Dutch. Lambert was very active in the New York Dutch Reformed church being witness to numerous baptisms from 1650-1670. Lambert was a witness to a baptism in the NYDRC on 04 Feb., 1652, and also on 22 Nov., 1654. He was again a witness in this church on 30 Oct., 1658. As a busy man he was once again witness to a baptism in this same church on 23 Nov., and 14 December, 1659. He was witness to a baptism in the NYDRC on 10 Feb., 1664. He was again a witness to a baptism in the NYDRC on 27 Jan., 1666.

She was a witness to a baptism in the NYDRC on 19 Oct., 1653.
