You asked for info on Amos' brother, John. He is my gr grandfather. You probably have this already but here goes.

Joseph Carberry marr. Lucinda Messinger 28/29 Nov. l838 near Acton, Marion Co. IN. He was b. l0 Jan l8l4 in IN. She was b. 3 Nov. l822 near Acton.

Joseph d 22 Jan. l852 per Amos' obit. It says in IN. but I really doubt that. The family was living in Scotland Co. MO. in l850. Then moved to IA. (Bremer Co.) Joseph d. soon after the move and Lucinda remarried Henry Bishop Boyd.

I can't find a burial site for Joseph or their youngest son also named Joseph. I have a feeling they are in the Messinger cemetery near Denver, IA. Lucinda's parents and several sisters and brothers-in-law are buried there in addition to John Carberry. It is and was the only burial site near where they lived at that time. No burial records available and cemetery records are taken from existing stones. There were stones for John Hill and Mary Messinger, Lucinda's parents, but they are gone. They were there in the early l930's but recently vandals tipped some over etc. and some IDIOT who "took care" of the cemetery loaded them all on a truck and carted them away and dumped them in an unknown site. Since then a cemetery board has been formed to see that it's properly taken care of.
