The Ladine Clan

I am researching the surname Ladine. It was supposedly an adopted name according to family legend. I have been informed that August Ladine was born in Sweden with the surname Ladine, though. August Ladine was in fact born in Sweden and his name was Sven Gustaf Johansson. His brother was Anders August Johansson. I don't know why they took the last name of Ladine though.
