I am researching all Lagroix, Lagrois in Upper Canada (Ontario).
The first Lagroix to enter Ontario was Nicolas Hupé dit Lagroix who married Catherine Raymond / Raimond
in Les Cèdres,St-Joseph, Soulanges, QC in 1803. This family came in between 1815 and 1818.
The surname "Hupé" was dropped from the records after they settled in St-Raphael, Ontario. Martin Lagrois, one of Nicolas sons, wrote is name with an "s". If your surname is "Lagrois", you are probably a descendant of Martin, who settled in Bourget.

I am a descendant of Nicolas, son of Nicolas and Catherine Raymond, married to Marguerite Gagner Nov. 1828 in St-Raphael, ON.
5 generations precedes Nicolas and Catherine.
I am the 6th generation after Nicolas and Catherine.

I have done extensive research with this first family and their descendants but the 1900's information is more difficult due to access of information.

I would appreciation your input, and I am willing to share my information.

My ultimate goal is to write a book on
"All the Lagroix Family in Upper Canada (Ontario)since 1800"
