The following was taken from The Fairmont Times, Fairmont, West Virginia about May 29, 1987:

Lalah J. Chaddock, 92, of Mannington, died Thursday (May 28, 1987) at the Wishing Well Health Care Center, Fairmont. She was born June 14, 1894 in Webster, Taylor County, daughter of the late Goff and Lummie Jackson Lake.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mannington, and a beautician by profession. Survivors include a son, Charles P. Chaddock of Sutton; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Dent Funeral Home, Mannington, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Mannington, at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. James Ullian officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Cemetery, Webster. The body will lie in state at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the service time.
