189. BERNARD BERYL⁶ LAKE (ILA HENDERSON⁵, JOHN AARON⁴, ILA³, GEORGE B.², WILLIAM¹) was born April 25, 1915, and died January 24, 1977 in Fairmont, West Virginia. He married MARTHA E. WEST June 30, 1934. She was born September 25, 1912.

Notes for BERNARD BERYL LAKE:
Beryl retired from Alcan Aluminum Company in Fairmont, West Virginia in 1975 with 33 years service. He also did carpentry work and was an artist at plastering homes. He retired early because of deteriorating health due to cancer, which caused his death in 1977. They lived at Millersville, near Fairmont.

Beryl worked two jobs for many years to support his family. He taught his six sons the trade of plastering when they were quite young and they worked right along side their dad. Working a man's job, the boys got a man's pay. Beryl was well known and well liked in the Fairmont area and many homes there show his talents, whether it was plastering, woodworking or hanging a door.
