Roy was born in Creston, Nebraska. They presently live in Leigh, Nebraska (1970) where Roy is manager of the Leigh By-Products Company, a meat processing plant. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1941 to February 7, 1946. He was stationed in Vienna, Austria for one year of this time. He and his wife have lived all their married life in Leigh, with the exception of his military service.
