LETTER FROM THOMAS JENNINGS

Thomas Rigden, Culpeper County, VA
Georgetown, Virginia October 13, 1788
Dear sir:
These lines will inform you that we are all well at present, thanks be to Almighty God for it; hoping to find you and Sister Lucy and children in the same.
You have not once wrote to me since you came into the family, which I have often wondered at; but hope from this you will continue to write from time to time as opportunity will offer, for I assure you it is my desire to hear of your wefare. I have troubled you with a piece of business to transact for me; that is I have sent to you a power of attorney to sell my lots that I have in Georgetown which you will find in five and six deeded to me in one deed, which Mr. Anthony Reintzell has got a copy of my deed, and you can there see which is sold, and which is not. I don't remember of ever seeling but that to Mr. Key. You will please sell the rest to the best advantage; but would not be very hasty about it, for I understand that the seat of Government is likely to be in your town. I have sold one lot, No. 170, to George Reintzell, son of Andrew, which I have given my bond for conveyance, which you will please give him a deed for by the power I now send you. No more at present, but my family join in their compliments and well wishes to you, sister Lucy and the children.
I am, dear sir, your obedient servant.
Thomas Jennings
