I have started to research my husband's ancestry as well as my own.
-My husband's grandfather, Joseph LaManna, was born in Carpanzano, Cosenza, Italy in 1894, and came to America in the early 1900's. His father, mother and sister also came to America, living in Wilmington, Delaware. He married Florence Evelyn Paris and they had one son, Francis Joseph LaManna. Francis Joseph LaManna, while in the Army at Ft. Campbell, KY, during WWII, met Mary Lee Seiler from Jeffersonville, IN, and married her after the war. They remained in Jeffersonville, IN, where Francis still lives at the age of 90. Mary Lee's ancestors included Germans, French citizens of Alsace, and Irish, the Seilers, Volperts,Buchheits, Fords, and Kennedys.
-My ancestors include the Bynums of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, Tennessee who resided in Virginia in the 1600's, the Douglases of Coffee, Cannnon, and Rutherford Counties,Tennessee descending from Scotland, the Talberts, the Bushes all of Tennessee. My mother's family include the Cooks and Kirbys of Illinois and Indiana who migrated up from North Carolina in the 1800's. Her grandmother's family include the Padgetts, Harrises, Corns, and Evans of Dubois County, Indiana. They were pioneers from Kentucky, settling the newly opened territory.
-I welcome any information you may have on any of these family links.
