This page is dedicated to my father Albertus Lindsley Lamb, Jr., (known as "Bert")and my mother, Irma Beatrice Rinkle Lamb. The majority of our anscestors entered the USA when it was still a colony of England, and came through New England ports, and settled there, first, primarily in Massachusetts or Connecticutt, and about 200 years later, moved to New York State in the late 1700's. My direct line came to Oneida County, NY and stayed, but siblings in each generation continued to move and spread across the country.
On my Dad's side, the main surnames being researched are Lamb,Cady, Popple, Wilkinson, Garlock, Fanning, Gallup, Carey, Lake, Kinne, and Thomas. On my Mother's side, the primary names being researched are Rinkle, (possibly formerly Wrangle), Mills, Race and Clark. These families have spent many generations in Central Upstate New York where I still live.

Particular "problem" folks are Margaret Thomas, my great grandmother Lamb, whose father was supposed to be "Tide" Thomas, a farmer and Welsh preacher from Canarvon City, Wales. She married my Great Grandfather Henry Lamb in Prospect, New York, Oneida County in 1865.

Another "brick wall" seems to be my Great Great Grandfather Lamb, believed possibly to be Joseph Lamb, m. to Lucinda Barker. His son, Great Grandfather Henry Lamb, above served in the Civil War for the Union, but never spoke much about his parents, so there is little to go on of spoken handed down family history, there.

A wealth of information has been available about my Grandma Jennie (Cady)Lamb, however, and it is her family that has yeilded the Cady, Popple, Gallup, Kinne, Fanning, Wilkinson, Cary, Lake, Garlock connections, and I have old letters to my Cady and Gallup anscestors from others in those families. The Gallup "line" includes also the "Kinne" cousins of the Gallups of Voluntown, Conn. Our Gallup are line was descended from Capt. John Gallup and Hannah Lake and ended with my 3G Grandmother, Martha (Gallup)Cady when she married Andrew Cady, of the "Nicholas" New England line of Cady's.

If you think you are related or have ancestral information about the names in my pages, stories or documentation, I would appreciate knowing about them and sharing information that I have.
