Rearch began in 1975 as a joint effort between two brothers, Frank and Fred Lamca to finally answer some age old questions; How was the name originally spelled? What is our correct national origin? In what city did the family originate? Why did they come to America? Who were these people who have sacrificed so much to come to America?
Beyond these questions, we wanted to belong to someone or something. That is to say,without knowing the answers outlined above, we had no real roots, no real family beyond the immdiate, no sense of identity. Most of our childhood friends were second or third generation Americans who knew exactly where they came from. Many of our friends still had a parent of grandparent living who spoke with a European accent and could relate to our friends stories about the "Old Country." Fred and I wanted to know about our origins, but the answers to what seemed like pretty basic questions were to go unanswered for many years.
There are many questions that remain unanswered, but little by little the puzzle is coming together.
The purpose of this website is to make the trail a little easier to follow for those who come after. A discovery is greatest when the information is shared with the greatest number of people. The chances for that information to be passed along is greatest when it is in the safe keeping of the maximum number of people possible. Let us now share what we know and continue to search for the remaining unanswered questions with great expectation. The information age has greatly increased our chances of completion.
