2. RICHARD³ LEMASTER (ABRAHAM², JOHN¹ LEMAISTRE) was born 1674 in Charles County, Maryland, and died Aft. 1735 in Zekiah Swamp, Maryland. He married MARTHA DENNIS WFT Est. 1705-1739 in Maryland, USA. She was born Abt. 1670 in Maryland, USA, and died WFT Est. 1750-1769.

Notes for RICHARD LEMASTER:
Richard appears to be the ancester of about 90% of the LeMasters in America since then, regardless of how they spell their name.
Recorded deeds show he was deeded 300-400 acres of land adjoining "Betty's Delight", by his father Abraham. These lands were located in what was then a wilderness. Charles County at that time lay wholly west of Zekiah Swamp. Most of its white inhabitants lived along the Potomac and its tributaries, and the tide of settlement moved inland year by year. The lowest reaches to Zekiah Swamp undoubtedly then lay well inside these frontier plantations.

The present Zehiah Swamp was, in early Colonial times inhabited by the Zakiah or Pangaio Indians. In 1689 Zachiah Fort was still occupied by the Piscataway Indians.

We know that Richard had six (6) sons in the period between 1691 to 1713 who grew to maturity.

3. JOHN³ LEMASTER (ABRAHAM², JOHN¹ LEMAISTRE) was born 1682, and died 1748. He married CHRISTIAN.
