Don was born in Montreal on the 21st of October 1921. He enlisted in the RCAF on August 27 1942 at Montreal.
He did his ITS at Toronto, his elementary flying at No.11 EFTS at Cap de la Madeleine and his SFTS at St. Hubert where he received his Pilot’s Wing on November 26, 1943.
He was posted overseas and arrived at No.3 RCAF PRC Innsworth, Glos., England on June 11, 1944.
