My name is Ray Lambrecht, my grandfather, George Lambrecht, was boen in Pfeifer, Russia on July 12, 1871. George married Kaderina Jacobs, also boen in Pfeifer Russia on October 4, 1871. In September of 1912, George and Kaderina traveled with their family from Pfeifer, Russia to Poland where they boarded a ship for England. After traveling for 30 days on another ship, they arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 6, 1912. From there they traveled to Topeka, Kansas where they stayed until May 10, 1913. At this time they moved to Ovid, Colorado where they started farming. In 1928 they moved to Iliff, Colorado and continued to farm until 1934 when they retired. George and Kaderina then moved to Sterling, Colorado where they lived until their deaths in 1956. They were parents of seven children: Rose, Mary, John Peter, Joseph, George, August and Catherine.
My father, John Peter, the third child of George and Kaderina was born in Pfeifer, Russia on November 8, 1895. John Peter met Magdalena Hochnadel, who came from Schuck, Russia with her parents, arriving in America at Ellis Island on September 5, 1913. John and Magdalena were married in Sterling, Colorado on February 7, 1921. They continued farming in and around the Sterling area until they retired in 1957 and moved to Sterling, Colorado where they lived until their deaths. The Lambrecht's became United States Citizens on June 15, 1956. They were parents of ten children; George, Joseph, Albert, Rose; Florence; Mary Ann; Raymond; John Peter II; Edward James and Francis Xavier.
Every year the Lambrecht's get together for a July 4th picnic in Sterling. All are welcome.
