The Remarkable Lambright Family

Updated June 21, 2009

My interest in family history began in the 1950's when my Mother-in-law, Margaret Louise Hall (m) Lambright, was showing her children and their families a diary that her Mother, Mae Elizabeth Knox (m) Hall, had written around 1902; that diary was hand written and told about her ancestors several generations back and her family life as she and her siblings and cousins grew up in the late 1800's and early 1900's. I typed her history, made copies and distributed a copy to each of her four children in the early 1980's. The original diary was too fragile to be handle by her descendants. Afterwards I began to connected all the individuals mentioned in the diary. This became a monumental task and decided I needed a computer program to help with the organization. One thing lead to another and you guessed it! I was hooked. After adding the maternal side of the family, of course, I needed to add the paternal side. Now I had my hubby's side of the family, so I began adding my maternal and paternal ancestors. Then I needed documentation, pictures, census tracts, birth and death certificates, and anything else I could get my hands on. So now that I have pretty much gathered as much data as I could find, I now need to preserve it so all my hard effort won't be forgotten and unintentionally trashed. I know I will never be finished looking for that next connection that I had previouly missed.
