Notes for RAULD ADOLPHEUS:
Rauld Adolpheus, born about 1020 was a companion of William the Conqueror and held the manor of Lovecote at the time of the Domesday Book in 1066. The Domesday Books were the census taken by William the First of England. Lovecote or Love Cottage as it was called, was given to Rauld and was held by his sons and daughters in line of succession.
