AMES RICHARD LANG:
Jim is a magician and bass soloist. He traveled around the world as a soloist with the Mount Union College Choir in 1966. On that trip he met his future wife Marilyn Hosken. They were married the following summer. At Mount Union he founded WRMU a campus radio station. After graduation he attended Elkins School of Radio Licensing and obtained a First Class FCC license. He returned to E Liverpool, OH to work as morning man and FM salesperson at WOHI radio. He left WOHI to serve in the Navy during the Viet Nam conflict (but never saw combat). He was employed as General Manager at WEIR Radio in Weirton, WV from 1967-76.

Jim worked at Paperwork Systems, Inc., Bellingham, WA as VP Sales, 1976-79. PSI was acquired by Control Data Corp who moved the company to Greenwich, CT in 1979, Jim was promoted to VP Market Development then later to VP Systems and Services (Division renamed MAGNICOM); CDC closed the company in 1985.

Jim joined Siber Hegner North America, Stamford, CT, as Division Manager, 1986-87. There he founded the Eaglestone Division in Milford, CT, a mail order company. Jim travelled extensively abroad looking for products for the division. The firm was closed a year later because the home office of Siber Hegner decided that they didn't want to be in the mail order business. Jim then joined Distribution Management Systems, Milford, CT, as Director of Marketing, 1988-89. Then is a similar job with Computer Systems Research, Avon, CT, 1990-1992. CSR was acquired in 1991 by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill who closed division in 1992.

In 1993 Jim opened his own management and marketing consulting practice called Imagination Works.

Jim is/was a member of Rotary (Paul Harris Fellow with one sapphire), Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, International Platform Assn., Direct Marketing Association, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the International Magicians Association, and the Fellowship of Rotary Magicians. He is listed in Who's Who in Finance & Industry, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in Sales and Marketing, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of Global Business Leaders and the 2000 edition of Who's Who in America. He founded WRMU, a college radio station. Jim graduated from E Liverpool High School.

In Rotary Jim held many club offices including President 1996-97. For his Rotary District (7980) he served as Area Representative 1997-98 and Assistant Governor 1999-2000. He also developed a Rotary database program that is used by several Connecticut Rotary Clubs.

Jim is active in his church and has held many jobs including Chairperson of the Council on Ministries and Chairperson of the Administrative Board 1987-91. He represented Trumbull United Methodist Church at Annual Conference 1995-98. He is a member of a religious organization called Fairfield County Tres Dias and served on three teams.
