Notes for Alfred Humphries: Alot of the young men from Georgia found their way into Florida by either railroad work, farm work or timber work. Alfred came to Florida to pick citrus and made his way to Bonita Springs where he met Aquilla. He was a very good looking man with a great personality. He did odd jobs around the docks and was known as "the Kid". He eventually settled into painting and was a painter his entire life. In later years he painted scenes from his early years in South Georgia and North Florida... alot of his children have his natural talent for painting and do wonderful paintings for themselves, family and friends. Notes for Aquilla Mary Johnson: The name Aquilla seems to have been chosen by Lily McKinney from the Bible.
